Our Story
Serving Louisiana Since 1970
We offer a wide range of transportation services, including local, regional, and even interstate transfers. Generic Ambulance Service is an accredited Medicare/Medicaid provider for ambulance transportation. We also accept private insurance, workers' compensation, and private payment from our clients.
Our fleet comprises seventeen state-of-the-art ambulances equipped with cutting-edge medical gear, including 12-lead diagnostic ECGs and pulse oximeters (pioneering this equipment among private providers in Northwest Louisiana). We were among the first private services to carry portable respiratory ventilators, CPAP, and BI-PAP machines for our patients. All our ambulances are equipped with communication systems that allow direct contact with medical facilities in the region and interoperability with public safety agencies across Louisiana.
Generic Ambulance Service holds the distinction of being the oldest ambulance service in Northwest Louisiana and is authorized by the Caddo Parish Commission to provide ambulance services in Caddo Parish, encompassing non-emergency transports and critical care transfers. We maintain standby units to offer backup EMS support to the Shreveport and Bossier City Fire Departments, Bossier Parish EMS, and the rural areas of Caddo Parish.
Our dedicated team of medical technicians is certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and the Louisiana Bureau of EMS. Each team member is CPR-trained and possesses Defensive Driving certification approved by the Department of Transportation (DOT). They specialize in the care and transportation of geriatric patients, dialysis patients, Alzheimer's patients, and terminally ill individuals. Our paramedics are certified in ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, and NALS. Our staff is highly trained, exceptionally professional, and compassionate.
